She's just a normal girl, right?
Falling in and out of love
But why must her heart be broken so many times?

She loves him
So she thinks
She says "This time will be different"
"This time I really do"
Inside shes begging and screaming
Hoping on everything she has
That another string won't break

He says she's great
He likes her
All her worries are shoved aside, she thinks of nothing else

They have so much in common
So many things to share on the hours of phone calls
Can't wait to hang out on the weekend
How can this not be real?

He says she's beautiful
He wants her
She wants him too
Her heart is full of aching desire
The love and trust she sees in him is too great to imagine

Suddenly, he's too busy for her
Forgetting to call
Breaking plans constantly
Leaving her behind in the shadows

With confrontation
The apologies come
Streaming sentimental, yet still artificial
Of course he would never want to make her sad

Shes hurting, but still believes it
Itching on the inside to just let go
She must hold on to her faith

She's so afraid of being humiliated

Weeks pass by
He said he'd do this and that
But nothing has changed

Yet she still has ambition
Not going to give up yet
She wants him so bad
She needs him like a drug

Then the anger comes
Knocking her over like a tidal wave
Salt stinging her eyes
She throws it right in his face

His remorse cover is fake
And she can see it
But plays blind
Waiting for the feelings to pass

Slowly the conversation dies
His number still lingers on her fingers
But she hasn't heard his voice
Not even one minute will he spare for her

She's left alone in the darkness
With her heart scratched out
Once again
For good
