It was dark. I wondered if the demon was here or not. Was he strong enough to find me here? Suddenly, I felt a cold breeze. Then, the demon appeared. He was shining in the darkness and looking at me. He looked very scary and very bizarre. He looked a little bit human, but he clearly wasn't a human.
"Did you think I wouldn't find you?" he asked me.
I looked at him without giving an answer.
"I will defeat you." the demon said.
"We'll see."
"There's nothing you can do about it."
Suddenly, I heard a noise behind me.
"Leave her alone, you jerk!"
A strange light shined through the hall and hit the demon. For a few moments, I thought he was wounded, but then he laughed.
"You are defendless!" he screamed to the person behind me.
I expected the demon would attack me, so I was very alert. Another light shined through the hall and hit him. Now, he laughed even harder.
"You can't harm me!" he laughed.
He could attack me any minute now. I knew that there was nothing I could do, so I just looked at him without moving. There was no point in doing anything. The demon slowly came closer to me. He was enjoying this. Suddenly, I felt that something strange grabbed my arm. It was too dark to see what it was. Now, the demon started to scream and attacked me. This was it. It was over. Suddenly, another light appeared and the next moment, I was lying under a very big tree. A girl was sitting next to me. She was wearing a light brown dress. It was almost white. The sun shined and the sky was blue. Where was I?
"My spells are too weak to defeat that demon, but we're safe here. Are you alright?" she asked.
I nodded. The demon... I tried to remember him. I remembered the screams, the strange lights, the stranger behind me... Had she been standing behind me?
"I teleported you to this place." she said.
"Thanks..." I smiled.
She smiled too. She had a very sweet smile. I got up and had a closer look around.
"I'm Jada." she said.
"I'm Ridley."
Suddenly, I heard footsteps behind me. I looked behind me and saw two girls. They both wore a light green, short dress.
"Are you alright?" one of them asked me.
"Yes. I'm fine." I assured her.
"Great."
"Those demons are just terrible." the other girl said. "They have attacked me too."
"They won't come here." Jada said.
"No, luckily, they won't. Are you going to stay?" she asked me.
What was going to happen to me? What was Jada up to?
"The demon is still there." she said.
"How long is it going to stay there?" I asked.
"I don't know. I suggest you stay here."
"It will be fun." one of the other girls assured me.
She grabbed my arm and took me with her.
"Where are we going?" I asked her.
"You'll see."
They took me to an open space in the wood. There, I met more girls in green dresses. One of them was playing flute. I sat down and listened. This was really nice. When the girl stopped playing, Jada explained to them what had happened.
"Welcome in our wood, Ridley. Do you play any instrument?"
"No."
"Well, you can always learn..."
"When will I got back home?" I asked Jada.
"I don't know. That demon is very strong." she answered.
"Why can't he come here, if he's so strong?" I asked.
"The fairy protects us." Jada smiled. "She keeps all demons away, so that we don't have to worry about them."
"You're very lucky." one of the other girls said.
"That's right. I can't save everyone." Jada said.
I was shocked.
"Why me?!"
"For some reason, my spells were working. Don't know why." Jada answered.
Suddenly, the girl with the flute started to play another song. Her music was very popular, everyone listened. She played several songs. Then, Jada grabbed my arm.
"It's time to go and see the fairy." she said.
She teleported me to a big hall. A strange woman was waiting for us. She was wearing a long, wide, lightblue dress with long sleeves.
"Welcome, Ridley." she said with a soft voice. "I am the fairy. You are in my castle now."
I didn't know what to say. What did she want from me? Was she going to send me home?
"I know that you have no magical powers." she continued.
"That's right." I nodded.
"I want to change that." she said.
I was shocked.
"If you want to hide here for the demons, you will need magical powers." she explained.
Couldn't believe it.
"Everyone here has them. It's no big deal, you will get used to it in no time."
Two young girls entered the hall. They were carrying a kettle. What were they up to? Jada put her hand on my shoulder.
"Don't be afraid." she said quietly.
Suddenly, a woman entered the hall. She looked a bit like Jada and she was wearing the same dress. She was holding a few leaves. The fairy had a look at her and nodded. Then, the woman handed the leaves to the fairy. The girls just stood there and did nothing. For a few moments, the fairy looked me in the eye. Then, she said something I didn't understand and then she threw the leaves in the kettle. Suddenly, a strange light appeared. I closed my eyes. When I opened them again, I looked into the fairy's eyes. She was holding a beaker.
"Drink this." she said.
What was it? Could I trust her? Again, she said something I didn't understand.
"If you don't cooperate, I will have to send you back to the demons." she said.
I was shocked, but what could I do? Her drink tasted a bit like tea, but it was something I had never tasted before. I handed her the empty beaker and she headed for the kettle.
"Show yourself." she ordered.
A strange creature that had been hiding in the kettle raised up. It was white and had big blue eyes.
