After all these years of taking all the blame-
Everything we know has changed, yet stayed the same.

At last you see what a big part you have played-
And how it could've been better if I'd stayed.

You've asked me to someday forgive your loss of will-
But that tangled source of emotion, comes with a bitter pill.

I can't forgive you for just giving up-
But, I can forgive you for not being enough.

Conflicting feeligs wrapped up with love-
And this bundle of tears, fits like a glove.

I always thought you'd hold on forever-
That we would face whatever, together.

It's breaking my heart to know this hurts you the same-
And I wish it were only with you, were I could place all blame.

I love you, I cherish you, I adore you, you know-
That it's killing me to say goodbye, and watch you go.

I loved this poem; very moving. Loved that last line. Where/Were

Sorry everyone, I messed up Where/were, thanks for pointing it out Jeannie, as soon as I am able to log in I will unpublish the poem and fix it. I am glad you enjoyed the poem Jeannie, I dare say you are one of my biggest fans (is that being overly prideful?) I mean it with humility and respect. Thanks-JB

Love’s lament

I love it….
Lets say that a tear ran down my face when I read your poem….I really loved to read it more than one time…
But I don’t understand ..who is leaving the other?? You or her? Or both decided to split….at first you said [And how it could've been better if I'd stayed] and at the end you claimed [and watch you go]?? I would fix the first line and say [better if you’d stayed] maybe….I loved your paradoxical sentence [Everything we know has changed, yet stayed the same]…
Your work was great ,touchy and I enjoyed it..
