I have resolved
That you will cause me no more shame
Yet I still come running
The minute you call my name.

I have resolved
I will love you no longer
But you still make my heart race
Like lightning, like thunder.

I have resolved
That I will ignore your requests
Yet I stand naked before you
When you ask me to take off my dress

I have resolved
That I will be no more than polite
Yet my knees go weak
The second you are within sight.

I have resolved
That my mind is hard and strong
But I declare defeat every time
When I fall into your arms.

I have resolved
That I want everything to change
Yet I can't help but fall prey
To your sick and twisted little games

I have resolved
That the healing will start
Yet how can it ever begin
When you abuse my mind, and rape my heart?

Dont think. Feel. Its like a finger pointed at the moon. Do not concentrate on the finger, or you will miss all that heavenly glory. Bruce Lee, Enter the Dragon.

Again, thank you for your positive self-confidence is really getting a boost here! I would REALLY love to have this poem turned into a song, in all honesty...It's my favorite one of all, and the one I'm most proud of....but unfortunately, I don't have the ability to create original music compositions.

So to all you musically-inclined individuals out there, if you think these words can be put to music somehow, and you can play an actual instrument of some kind, RECORD IT AND PLEASE SEND IT TO ME! I would love some music to sing these lyrics to.

Veruca, I also enjoy your style of's very raw, very real. I think we're both influenced from Veruca Salt, as our writings seem to follow the theme of many of their songs. I know mine do. Keep it real, keep it strong.

i know what you mean...
I know! I felt the same way very recently...Remember! If he doesn't make you happy, he's not worth you're time.

Duct Tape and Candy Bars

It wasn't so much about someone else not making me happy. The poem was really about my not being happy with myself enough to know when to let go, my struggle to stop accepting the way I was letting myself be treated by someone I cared deeply about, for the sake of my own well-being. It was a self-realization "statement", if you will. A moment of clarity.

It's oftentimes a very delicate balance between letting ourselves become weak enough to drop our defences and love someone openly, and letting ourselves become so weakened by that love that we lose sight of the person we once were.

Well, that's enough waxing of the philosophical for this morning...jesus, it's only Tuesday. *groan*
