I’ve been playin' real hard hittin' the clubs
I've been out of control goin' for broke
After hearin' bout your new girlfriend
Heard she's takin' you for all you got
And she’s not even all that hot
So I'm out here all on my own
Don’t know why I even still care
But you know I do, yes I do

Oh, oh yeah
Can see you still playin' your game
Oh, oh yeah
Heard you callin' her my name
Oh, oh yeah
You don't, don't have no shame
Oh, oh yeah
Busy shootin' for all that fame
Oh, oh yeah
Don't know what you became
You don't, don't have no shame
No shame, no shame

I'm just gonna keep movin' on
Line after line it's all a joke
You're just all messed up for now
Got me all tied up inside hidin'
It's not surprisin''been all dividin'
So I'm out here all, all alone
Still don't know how we got here
But I still feel your every stare

Oh, oh yeah
Can see you still playin' your game
Oh, oh yeah
Heard you callin' her my name
Oh, oh yeah
You don't, don't have no shame
Oh, oh yeah
Busy shootin' for all that fame
Oh, oh yeah
Don't know what you became
You don't, don't have no shame
No shame, no shame

Oh yeah I can still hear our song here playin' all night long
Maybe when the light come on you'll see where it went wrong

Oh, oh yeah
Can see you still playin' your game
Oh, oh yeah
Heard you callin' her my name
Oh, oh yeah
You don't, don't have no shame
Oh, oh yeah
Busy shootin' for all that fame
Oh, oh yeah
Don't know what you became
You don't, don't have no shame
No shame, no shame

question
what's with the odd embellishments?

Is it some code I'm supposed to know about and don't because I live on an island? This question wrecked the whole poem for me cause I kept on puzzling about it and wondering if I was out of the loop.

NO SHAME
This odd embellishment is called singing. Not really sure what you mean otherwise...... This is a lyric not a poem. Lyrics are a form of poetic verse but are poems exactly.. It's venue here is POP.

verse chorus verse chorus bridge chorus = The structure I used

Sorry if it seems confusing but it's really not...Usually the bridge goes before he 2nd or 3rd chorus but this is how I heard the piece...Hope I answered your question here.....:)))

No Shame

Sorry for the typo above...left out an important word "not" changing the meaning of the sentence.. It should have read: "Lyrics are a from of poetic verse but are NOT poems exactly....:)))

’ - MTMarshall
Maria,

It may not be showing up on your computer due to the font you are using but evertime you have inserted an apostrophy(')in the first verse it is entering a ’ into your text.

I found this happening a few times myself on Lit but managed to edit out when posting.....

NO SHAME
Ivor thank you very much for both your comments and I am glad you enjoyed the piece....

As for the apostrophe having an "a" I don't see it on my computer..How did you edit it out when it happened to you???

Fondly,
Miriam

NO SHAME-Font Error?
Mirium,

This is a bit confusing as I thought you may see the problem when viewing it on Lit. Possibly your PC does not have the font they use and is using a 'font substiture' that doesn't quite match.

It is more normal for this error to put a '/' in (which you have probably seen in others work) and not the 'symbol that it is using with you. With this in mind you possibly cannot also see this as we do when we edit in the comments, leading to further confusion.

I have taken a picture of your first stanza as it appears to us but there is no way of me sending this to you through Lit. If you want me send it to you drop me an email at ivor@ivordavies.co.uk and I will forward this picture of how we see it.

When I had this problems I simply went into 'manage writings' and used 'edit' to correct this. However if you are not seeing this on Lit this may be no help to you.

The only thing I could then suggest is ask Chrispian what font he is using for postings and make sure you download this font to your font directory.

Hope this helps....

NO SHAME
Thank you Ivor for all your help. I'm still trying to figure out what it is I'm doing different here... I'm using the same programs etc. as before... I will ask about what font is being used as you suggested...Thank you again Ivor....:)))

thanks to Ivor
I suppose Ivor's explanation clarifies my question. When I read your response I figured you didn't see what I did and left it alone. It's not the first time I've seen weird stuff cluttering up a post. Just haven't for quite some time. It really is distracting but now that Ivor has provided some input perhaps squiggles and stuff won't be there.

NO SHAME
No sorry about that Pen.... I haven't done anything new on here.... So it's still a bit baffling as to why it does so at times and not at other times... :)))

( Posted by: MTMarshall [Member] On: February 11, 2011 )

I don't know!
maybe if you try another font? I use comic sans on my Mac and don't have a problem. What really is baffling is .. if that is an apostrophe you've used then why are there three characters visible instead of just one?

I think I'll go check some of your other posts seeing as I've perplexed you into ....

No Shame
Sorry I'm so late in. I liked this, a simpler and more defined for you. Is this a Rocker or a Pop piece? The lyric is Poppy - a different voice for you -Cool!

NO SHAME
Yeah Ken you got it indeed!!! Your ears are right on!!! Pop is the venue here for sure or at least that is how I heard it when I wrote it... Glad liked it...

Pen, let me know if notice anything odd on my posting's anytime... I am using a PC but I will also get on our Mac here and see if there is a difference that might be a factor as well.. It's all a bit odd.

:)))

Strange Characters
Those characters are usually from being copied and pasted from something like Microsoft Word or other "fancy" word processors. I'll see what I can do to programmatically convert them. In the mean time, the simple fix is to paste your work into a simple text editor and then copy it from there into the Vorpal system.
