Once upon a time:

Clouds spin in my mind. Sunlight. Nothing stands still. If I could freeze time would it all stop? Would the thoughts I have cease? You’d never leave? It was a spot of gold. A spot I found hidden in your heart. I tried to cash it in, but in the end it melted. Tell me then, friend, what was the point to all this?

Once upon a time:

Blood in my veins stopped flowing. My heart stopped beating. All this ice in my body, glaciers of pain crash into me. From far away everything looks okay. Take a closer look. I’m a wreck. Watch out, only seconds left before I hit a wall. Only seconds left, it’s the end. When I crash will I burn? Be set on fire?

A spot of gold. Veins full of ice. We were so much alike, once upon a time.

Gold and ice, so pure and so flawed at the same time.

You were gold. I was ice. Once upon a time.
