Eliwood saw Averros and another elf waiting in the main hall. He smiled and waved.
"Well met friend," Eliwood said as he shook Averros's hand.
"Greetings," Averros smiled and grinned. "This is my good friend Daralon, my understudy," he chuckled. The younger elf looked at him with a grin and pushed him playfully.
Eliwood turned to address the other elf. He immediately realized he was only a half-elf. He was taller than an average elf, and he was built like a human. Stocky but with a balance to him. His fiery red hair and light brown eyes gave him pause. "Greetings. I'm Eliwood Greenarrow. And you are?"
"Darralon Wildfire." he smiled as they shook hands. "Averros speaks highly of you Eliwood. By the way, it seems more likely that HE is MY understudy. I did win Tethrin's match in the final round against Averros," he said with a wink and a chuckle.
Averros rolled his eyes and laughed, "A fluke, and nothing more. I didn't want to disappoint the boys father you know."
Eliwood's eyes sparkled in recognition. Wildfire. Rangor Wildfire was his father. No wonder this boy had been able to keep up with the more experienced bladesinger. His father was reknown for his talents. A bladesinger as well as a priest of Tethrin. The only bladesinger more powerful than Rangor was the legendary Korrin Moonblade. Competing with Korrin was like trying to compete with Lord Torcainen himself, a quasi powerful being infused with the spark of the divine. Eliwood found new respect for the young half-elf. Rangor's bloodline was strong indeed, even within a half breed.
"Well met friend. Your father must be very proud indeed. I remember when Averros was the star pupil of Tethrin. It seems the torch light has been passed, eh old friend?" He playfully jabbed Averros in the ribs with his elbow.
All three elves laughed lightly. "What brings you two to the castle? Your lucky Lord Torcainen is busy, he would scold Elaith and I for letting you two into the main hall."
"Well-"
"Averros longs for his wife. She was sent on the recovery mission to Even Crest." Daralon interrupted brightly and patted his mentor on the back.
Averoos blushed and grinned,"Thats not the only reason we are here youngling. I want to know about the drow,"
Eliwood couldn't contain his smile. He knew how Averros and Avina were. They were inseperable and many times he had heard remarks about them "being as wild as rabbits."
"Well, I have some time. Let's go outside where the wind blows steadily and I will tell you everything I know. Oh, and maybe we will find time to stop by Even Crest," he said with a
playful look towards Averros.
Daralon looked at Eliwood and Averros. He said nothing and just smiled. It was going to be some adventure.
