RUSSIAN INSPIRED FANTASY E-BOOK DEBUTS

"The story had two lines of inspiration: one had to do with a Russian folktale about a Rusalka, and the other had to do with a "devil's bargain" made with nuclear power and the damage to the environment by modern industrial technology," says de Rosas. "The story is not about environmentalism at all, but about the bargains we make with our lives' and our children's lives. That the Rusalky are girls whose souls are stolen by the Vodany is much the same bargain we have made with
the toxins in our natural environment: our children's lives for immediate gain."
