A world in which we lose our self,
Retain our health
By being someone else.
Just for a moment create a mood
Within in which we see no gloom
All tied up and in its place
Where reason rules
Fair and grace.

A place where we can be our self
But something else
Without our tells,
Beyond the walls
Beyond the way
In which all falls
Day to day.

The box in which all delights
Can be understood so late at night
When all else fails to warm
We can escape the bitter dawn.
Away from cold questioning night
And all else that ensures our plight.

To be happy is to know nothing
And so in this world we all find something
Where the meaningless becomes the cure
To all bad thoughts
We want no more.

To be happy
To be sad
All the same
Within the fad.
We all fade and drift apart
As our minds paint future’s art.

------
Remember my friend, despite all you are, all we are, the universe will tick on, long past our departure.

this is a wonderfully layered poem. "To be happy is to know nothing"--this goes nicely along with the notion of innocence is bliss. nice work!

The box
Another fine poem. A place without our tells , indeed. How nice that would be? Penned darkly and bittersweet. Thanks. Great read.
