For those unfamiliar with the story of "The Crow"....Eric Draven is resurrected by a crow. He is given two days to right all the wrongs that had taken place when he had died. I have made an adjustment to the meter and slightly changed the format.
(LEAD IN)
At times when heavy fines have been left far behind
In a sadness of all sums death comes unfinished
In the end there should be with no more need to fend
As a Crow carries my soul no tolls to defend
(VERSE 1)
My soul knows no rest into the land of death
In a tragedy too great I'm holding my breath
Far greater than Macbeth, profound sadness lingers
So deeply heavy in woe breaking my fingers
In guiding my way by words sometimes a Crow brings
Back into the light of day for the black bird sings
To the land of the living my soul must travel
A vengeance for right my soul must unravel
(CHORUS)
Only two days wakin' from the daze
Is how all this plays to clear the haze
To change the ways and set all ablaze
Making sure who pays as justice takes'em
To the test, to the test
Two days ringing new days, new ways
Two days bringing in two days new ways
The Crow avenges, The Crow avenges
In just two days, two days
The Crow avenges, avenges, avenges
(BRIDGE)
Sometimes love is stronger than just all the days
Where death just cannot have the final say or ways
Now forever gone but love that is real is forever bound
Just waiting to be found; the Crow reminds me
(VERSE 2)
Carrying me on my quest putting an end to the fight
Reminding me unwinding me the Crow sets things right
There is a place where restless souls go to wander
All is brought to swallow no time left to squander
Sometimes a crow holds waiting for that chance
As love comes back again from that burdened glance
As weighted sadness rests, a settling of the wrongs
Only then, only when a settling of right songs
(VERSE 3)
In an freeing from the woe for the black bird knows
Showing me along the way; bearing the word as it goes
Down into the ground stolen from all my tomorrows
Eternally buildings burn bringing me sorrows
Some may cry while others die, silence breaks around
Turning inside, some may be lost or never found
The crow avenges bringing a clearing of ground
And in deafening mounds of quiet rings in sound
(REPEAT CHORUS)
