In days of total darkness
The earth was void of light
There came in quite splendor
The soul that called the night

It called the sound softly
Floating upon the wind
It called the sound gently
In tiny grains of sands

Sleeping in the blackness
Such a tiny spark
To chase away the darkness
To live within the heart

The soul ever searching
Looking for the way
To over come the darkness
To love the light of day

To touch the velvet darkness
To wear it like a vail
To shroud the hungry soul
To leave the heart beat pale

The heart in quite splendor
Searched and found the light
The days of total darkness
Were vanquished into night

The stars in the heavens
Give off the brightest glow
For when the night falls round them
Then they truly know

They glitter and they glisten
The truth is there to see
In the total darkness
The tiny souls are free

The ones that shine the brightest
And light the night sky
Are the many ways I love you
Are the many reasons why

So look upon the heavens
The love thatís living there
Shining through the darkness
Is all the love we share

In the depth of despair hope shines like a beacon leading you out of the darkness into the light. Simple yet moving. I was simply moved.
