Firstly, i should thank 'Pradeep Sebastian' for writing his very nice review on Susi Ganesan's Tamil movie 'Five Star' in the Hindu newspaper without which perhaps, i wouldn't have come to know about this wonderful movie that not just celebrates friendship but, goes beyond to prove that friendz [ I love to add Z instead of S ] are not just foir schools and colleges. But, they could even be foir life. Sounds wonderful isn't it ? We always wish and dream that some of our friendships would last for eternity. But, then all our dreams and wishes don't come true. Do they ?

Re-seeing "Five Star" for the second time, i remembered my friendships in my life...those shared momements together and those memories....sweet memories of yesteryears...It has its touching and moving moments. It's reallytouching to see that female friend's husbands are so understanding about their wives friendships and even support them.
The actors-Prasanna, karthik, krihna, kaniha, sandhya and mangai- are all fresh faces in the movie and never once do you feel that they are acting and that this is their debut movie.
They look and feel like real day to day people next door.
The music is really very nice to ears...especially the song "Engalukku"- the vocal and the instrumental versions. You can't help humming them. The five friends here actually make a beautiful dream come true. They build or purchase [ i didn't get that bit though ] a house called 'Five Star Villa' with five bedrooms for each oe of them.
Well, according to me, there were only two note worthy movies in tamil in the last six months or so. One was 'Ambesivam' and second 'Five star'.
Five Star is re-freshingly different right from the movie poster. The five friends sitting on the beach front in wet cloths, with the girls looking seaward and the boys looking at the cameras- it is the best movie poster of the year, i think. It's as attractive like the cover or the wrapper of the five star chocolate...that tempts you to open the wrapper and munch the mouth watering chocolate...
So, five star is as tempting as the five star chocolate itself and delightful. One flaw in this movie is that scene of the musical card, as Pradeep had rightly said in his review. Our directors do succeed in making 99 % different movie and refreshing...which could have been 100%. But, then they add a scene or two which is not only cliched bit. But, boringly routine like many other 99 movies made out of any given 100.
Anyway, five star has inspired me to write my own story called 'Together we stand'. Since, it is been inspired by this movie so naturally it's theme resembles it to some extent...Its about 7 friends, who are also email friends, whoc come together and start a busines and stay together. But, then their business collapses and they part their ways. But, keep in touc withe each other. When they finally come together in the end it will be a perfect example for all other friendships in this world.
The friendship are so rare atleast in the Indian movies..my fav. movies on friendship are 'Sholay', 'Dalapathy', 'Dil Chahata Hai', 'You got mail' to name a few.
The best thing about the five star is that the friendz remain friendz till the end.Their relationship remains platonic till the end. I wanted to write a better review than Pradeep's.But, i should say that his was the best review and hope to read more reviews from him.
