Some find death to be beautiful. I was just reading a friend's short poem where she confirmed that opinion.

In a way, yes. I agree. Death is beautiful.

Death is beautiful for it has shown Man how precious life is. Death is beautiful for it made Man invent eternity. Death is beautiful for it has inspired every living to love and care for its off springs. Death is beautiful for it has shown us how to sympathize with those experiencing loss. For it teaches us to cherish the living. Before the die.

Death has taught us love. Death teaches us to seize the moment. This moment. For it will never come back again.

We can hope for Nirvana as much as we like. But it is just a hope. A hope that death is not the end of it. This, we owe to death.

"Paul confirms that without the resurrection, there would be no hope ... "

But we must come to a new awareness.

Even if there is no resurrection. There is hope. Hope for and kinship to future generations. Our sons and daughters. Their sons and daughters. Our brothers and sisters in Mankind. To them we pledge our comradeship and our solidarity.

This, we owe to death.

Ah, yes, death is beautiful!
I have attended funerals where I could not understand why the humans in attendance were weeping uncontrollably. I sensed that they were tearfully fearful of the unknown. Strange, I thought, especially in churches where all were taught that the good ones go to straight up to heaven - taken by angels with sins forgiven and Jesus established firmly within their hearts, his furniture, tapestries, and all. In fact, we often exclaimed together with great conviction, "Amen!" in all of the right spaces during sermons. Nonetheless, most cried, and I once saw a woman throw herself onto the coffin as the pallbearers sullenly marched down the aisle toward the doors that led to its carriage waiting to take it to its grave. I cry sometimes just because everyone else does.

Except for the funeral of one man. His death was truly beautiful. The tears that flowed at his time of dying were tears of joy because, I think, he himself was beautiful, always smiling and helpful. He loved everyone and was a friend to all. He knew he was going to die. I think that is where the beauty laid, because he went around for months performing random acts of kindness for everyone he knew (or didn't know) before passing. No one, but a few, knew that he was sick.

I fear change. I think most do. That may be the reason why we will cry at funerals, and for the loss of the loved one, of course, or the stupid mistakes that got them killed. I do not intend to sound callous, for I believe, think, and often squander my ponders on this subject, DEATH, almost every day.

Yes, every day.

In closing, I would like to say that I have changed my mind. Death can not be described as beautiful or by any other word. It just is and I am not big enough to know what "is" is. So, quietly I click submit, but not before apologizing for boring you sir with this and signing out.

Death,Life,Beauty,Freedom, the wheel turns and turns, endless cycles....
Well, glad to have inspired you...life is beautiful too, each and every single one, it is more in the mind than in anything else, what we perceive is what is. Happiness is what we make it, what our inner mind allows if we can reach that point of awareness in our lives. That is what I strive for, in this life, in all lives, each a transition from one to the next, but ultimately, I want out...I want all sentient beings to have the joy of freedom from the endless cycle of birth and rebirth and the suffering and ignorance that comes with some lives and most lives, I want Nirvana not just for myself, but for all, in thier own perception be it thier Christian or Jewish or Islamic heavens, or the shamans paradise, or even Valhalla of the warriors among us...whatever, may all be free from suffering and see the beauty that is in all and in the oneness we all share...
