It rains hard here and when it does
The forecaster warns of going out and about
The traffic newsman shows evidence of cars in collision
Yet, I recall my native Seattle and months of gray wetness
Interspersed niggardly in moments of yellow dryness
This winter in Seattle there are icy, snowy thoroughfares
And I know with a certainty that my rainy day
Here in San Diego will meet its demise shortly

rainy days
It doesn't rain much here and we are lulled into a same thing everyday kind of mentality. Where is the cold and wet and driving wind that makes us stand against the whims of nature. Stand where we can write great metaphors.My life is like ... Where the torture of living in those other climes harvest such rich artistic work.
No-we San Diegans must bare the sad weight of one beautiful day ater another. Tediously going about doing whatever this booring climate allows. Tan deeping,tee shirt wearing, fish catching,sailing, surfing, chilling out as a terrible substitute for the rich harvest of words created in the backdrop of snowdrifts, cabin fever, and bitting cold wind. Alas Steph, you and I will just have to hold up somehow and coax whatever the San Diego muse will allow.

Corporate Fear
Wars and products have sold and chorographed form the very fear media portrays upon us. An ex Weather channel meteorologists create a site called weatherwars but it never went anywhere, i do not know why this reminded of his movement but none the less.

Here in Ny it was 65 degress f and today it is snowing and 29 degrees. Amazing because the local news were stating that the morning commute will be a brute and what this really does in my head is predetermine everyones day before the day has arrive. We as writers and artist know that life is only in present and the future is simply not here and will be walked as we walk the seconds forward.

I once did a study of my own a few months ago and made a point to watch the local news for three days at ten o'clock and make notes to the fear they preach, the next morning i would make analyse on peoples behavior and emotion levels. perhaps this would make a good post one day but, the finding were incredible.

Good read and memories were flourished.

Hi Steph...hope your move to San Diego was uneventful, and you are begining to feel at home.

So sorry you are subjected to wonderful, warm sunny weather, while your friends back at home are enjoying their wicked, stormy, cold, bleak Seattle weather.

We all have to make sacrifices in this life. This too shall pass!
