Race, race, race!
Running from place to place.
Trying to keep pace.
Wishing I could escape.

Rushing from day to day.
Seeing my life slip away.
Wanting to laugh and play.
Except there's hell to pay.

Run, run, run!
Don't have any fun.
The moon's up, then the sun.
When will I be done?

Feeling like I'm falling.
No one hears my calling.
Running in the rain.
Oblivious to the pain.

In their suits and ties.
Telling all their lies.
Trample on your soul.
En route to their goal.

Life is not a race.
We go at our own pace.
I don't want to win.
If I'll have to sin.

I try to catch my breath.
What else is left?
When life has passed by.
It'll be too late to cry.

Rush, rush, rush!
Coffee in the clutch.
Try to do too much.
Never feel a touch.

Feels like I might drown.
All I do is frown.
In this sleepless town.
There's no way but down.
