I have these,
Nonpoet days

Rock, like a babby
The brain in my head.

Yeah,
I have these
Nonpoet days

Have a too-loud T.V
And a crease in the couch
Worn by my hipbones.

So yeah,
I have these
Nonpoet days

Watch weather,
Walk dogs
Lost on unrhythms.

And yeah,
I have these
Nonpoet days

Disjointed by drink,
My failures form fists

More human and
Less beautiful
Than the world wants me
To be.

------
The human race, the only race I know where everybody loses.

Shannon's muse
I hear you Shannon...those days, when the words are just beneath my grasp...when my fingers lie idle on the keyboard just waiting for inspiration.
When I wonder if I will ever write again.

But that's just me...and when it does come again, it is so inconsequencial compared to what you will eventually come up with. Whereas, we wait...with baited breath...to see what Shannon's muse has in store for us...it's always more than worth the wait.

Sometimes, muses need a vacation too!

Love ya,
Bea

the day after
Im having one of those days right now..the day after birthday celebrations??? I was having more fun by myself...

The Day After

We lay in bed tied to the posts
shannons right leg and right arm
my left leg and arm
my rights and her lefts were
tied together...

It was awkward??? Did I spell that
write??? It was weird but glorious
we kept bumping heads...
we kept bumping private parts...
we kept giggling and stuff and stuff...

Finally the demi-god who had tied us
came back to release us...

and we said no thanks...
and we said no thanks...

Shannon's one of those days...Terence too funny!
Your poem was awesome...I know those days, had many lately, many many! Thanks for once again for sharing OUR thoughts with us....for we all indeed share a lot on one of those days. Except your talent of course.

Now, I had to laugh at Terence's comment, laughed out loud! Hysterical great stand up stuff, he is good at those quickly humor quips...ping pong bong dong! I partly liked his part that said we kept giggling and stuff and stuff..,;-)

Namaste!

'failures form fists', response to
Na' yesterday did not find itself - today than any other day- one day- or to the next 'today'... the pulse of add-on's... where did one unearth 500?

Good title in the retro-intro-spective nature of, and the in-relationship between human beings, chores chintz and drink-medicine.

'Watch weather, walk dogs' and, 'My failures form fists' are familiar. Two favourites. These toned-down doings and disjointed quavers entertain where any other day is just proper and perverted.

'Rock like a baby
the brain in my head'

This is familiar and fetching. I sense I am learning a great deal from 500. Again, words do not fail. Thank you.

I can relate...
I think most of us can. Particularly the following:

"More human and
Less beautiful
Than the world wants me
To be."

thanking eight
Eric, "inkahol", that's funny... might have to borrow that. thanks for looking in...

Bea, thank you kindly, Grandma, guess we can all relate to this one hu? I'm taking my muses away with me on Friday, so we can all take some much needed down-time... hopefully we'll return refreshed to find a new poem[s] from our favourite feisty Grandma...? here's hoping...

Terence, and stuff and stuff, fucking love you, you know that *hic*...

Lena, thank you. yeah, this one's pretty universal... sometimes even I yearn to be understood ;)... more giggling, says I...

firstedition, thank you. this is, was, my 500th post here. I felt like I ought to have written something a bit more spectacular but it was nonpoet day so I drank too much and passed out on the couch for most of the day instead... yeah, it sounded better in poem form... you're too kind. appreciated...

Tammy, bless you, my friend. hope you do stick around. "you class up the joint" as a friend of mine would say...

Francisco, not sure if it is an achievement or a failure to have anything else in my life… although that’s less true now than it was, thank God… you think Whitney would consent to sing something like this…? that’s a really funny thought… but perversely, I kind of like it… thanks you…

Johnny, thank you for relating, and for bearing witness.

síochán, all.

...
This is another great poem from you. I really like your style. It reminds me of Dose One, an indy hip hop artist that is also a great poet. You should download some of his songs if you are into that type of stuff...

Congratulations
Not sure what to say, lest you think I want you to be more beautiful. I think the beauty of your soul comes from just being human. It's enough for me.
