Long dead shrunken heads are rushing in the Congo,

The mosquitoes they are buzzing amongst the native growers,

There's a beat all around as the air starts to clear,

And I see through the mist the glinting of spears,

The radio says the planes on its way,

But the birds they call to me to stay,

Well supplies are low but it'll work out fine,

Now the radios dead, but I'm having the time...

It's Chille down the Amazon and deep in Venezuela,

The flows getting stronger as you follow on up river,

With trees closing in on either side,

As the jungle takes a bite, its mouth open wide,

And further on up I see sunlight through the trees,

It hits me so hard that it sends me to my knees,

As the ground starts shaking and the jungle starts rushing away...

And there's a rush going on deep down in the Congo,

The party's going strong right across the jungle,

This is no place to sleep,

As the forest starts rushing away....

Dawn arrives through my mosquito net,

So I take the leaf and try to forget,

What it is I can't remember but will always regret,

So I take the leaf and try to forget.

But the monkeys in the trees they come around to taunt me,

The Witch-doctor says he's gonna try to cure me,

But the leave I taking gonna take me well away from here....
