Part XI
“All of these websites suck! My roommate is so gonna get chewed out for not returning my DVD!” exclaims Henry.
“You can’t just go to his side of the apartment and get it?” I ask.
“Considering what a mess it is, no.”
Henry and I were planning on watching a DVD today, but his friend never returned it and we can’t find a website with working broadcasting. But we’re still here in the student union anyway, talking while the web page fails.
“You know there are plenty of websites out there to consume time on,” I say.
“Now there’s a solution.”
Henry leans back and wraps his arm around me as I type the URL to a game site. It’s pretty obvious to me that Henry has a crush on me.
Maybe I’ll fall in love with him; maybe I won’t. The beauty of it is that I have the freedom to dare or not to dare, and I don’t have to be the Atlas of sorrow. I can just let all of life’s experiences happen whether they change a moment or a lifetime. I, Arlene Millicent, believe that is the soul of living.
And seriously, what could be a better way to honor Maxwell than to live a life of unforgettably great times?

Life surprises you! And I'm talking about the good stuff, because a bad surprise is not a surprise at all, it is just shock and horror. All of these good surprises, they are rewards, and the things that happen to remind you that you matter and that you should make yourself faithful so that you can be deserving of all of life's good surprises. Every wonderful surprise in life is a chance to flourish, so grab life by the horns-but don't ride, steer instead: life's horns are life's joystick. You can handle it, because your life's horns are made especially for you. If you don't give up, all of this will hold true and life will continue to surprise you.
