Let The Silence Talk.

A Short Story.

"Your time is up!" said the stranger, pointing the loaded pistol at him, with his finger ready to press the trigger any second.

"Tell me how do you want to die, with the bullet in your head or your chest ? The choice is yours !" he continued.

The Stranger at whom that gun was aimed at was seated on the chair and his mind racing fast, thinking something to save himself somehow. He was sweating, inspite of the fan whirling above his head, making a lot of noise.

"Tell me the price of the bullet that you are going to pump into my whatsoever i may decide ?" he asked, lighting a cigar and offering him one and lighted his cigar too.

"Thanks." he said, taking it with the other hand and keeping it in his mouth and puffing balls of smoke out of his mouth.

"Ten million !" he said, " Make your choice as i am running out of time!" he said, aiming the gun once again at him.

"I offer you twenty million if you tell me the name of the person who paid you the price ?" he said, pushing a briefcase on the desk.

"Robert samuel." he said, " and your choice ?!?"

"I will pay you thirty million if you pump the bullet into his chest, instead." he said, pushing another briefcase forward.

The gun shot was heard and the stranger emerged outwith two briefcases in both his hands and the cigar in his mouth and the mobile started ringing in his overcoat pocket. He kept one briefcase down and took out his mobile phone and answered it :

"Hello, your job is done !" he said.

"Fine." said someone at the other end, "meet me at St.Louis Port at 5' o clock"

"Ok."

Later at St.Louis Port at 5 ' O Clock :-

"Here's the money i had promised you." siad the stranger, handing him a briefcase, "Tell me, how did you kill him ? How i wanted to see the bastard die !"

"I pumped the bullet into his chest." he said, "Tell me, why did you wanted him dead ?" he asked.

"As you know, that we are both the dons of the same city. We there can't be two suns for one universe...two kings for one kingdom.....two lions for one jungle...similarly here too. His son fell for my only daughter and i thought that if i killed him that would end that relationship too."

"Nice idea." he said, " Know what ? He offered me money to kill you too."

"And what did you do ?" he asked, beginning to feel scared.

"I took that money." he said.

"But...but, then he is dead...you can take that money and live happily even if you don't kill me, right ?" he said.

"A promise is after all a promise..." he said, grinning, "and you know well that i always keep my promises. Now, make you choice. Tell me how you want to die ? with the bullet in your head or chest ? The choice is yours !" he said, taking out his gun and aiming at him.

"I'll pay you twice what he had offered to you if you let me live." he said, sweating.

"Sorry...I already have enough." he said, "Your choice please ?"

He tried to run away and he pressed the trigger of his gun. The bullet raced after him and hit his chest from behind and he collapsed and the stranger pressed the trigger one more time and the bullet hit his head. Suddenly, a bullet hit the stranger from behind and he turned to see who had fired at him. A young woman was standing with a gun in her hands and she pressed the trigger of her gun two more times and he started to collapse too, but, he pressed the trigger of his gun one last time, before he could do that and the bullet raced out of his gun and hit her stomach and she started bleeding.

""Why did you shoot my father ?" cried a young man, rushing forward and holding the dying stranger in his hands.

"Becuase, he killed my father so." she said, coming towards him, "Forgive me, James."

"No!" he cried, with tears in his eyes.

"Forgive me, James." she said, pointing the gun at his temple and pressing the trigger one last time and collapsing down upon him.

Hatred had died it's death and now, it was time for the silence to talk.
