She has a name
We may never know it
All that was found
A torso in a garbage bag

Heart shaped-peach tattoo
on her chest is the only clue
Head, arms, and legs
were never recovered

Someone's daughter is missing
A baby's mommy will never return
What she was matters not
No one deserves to die that way

Her spirit haunts...
the heavily wooded state park
where she was found
Give her a name, put her to rest

Thanks Wanda,
Haven't felt up to par lately and haven't had any help from my muse until I saw this unsolved mystery...It moved me and I thought if anyone out there knew of a missing person who had a heart shaped peach tattoo...we might find out who she is...a camper found her torso while camping in 1997...don't know much else but she did have a baby...there is at least one child of hers growing up with out a mom...

I also have good news...after being blessed with 5 grandsons, I became grandma to a beautiful baby girl on 3/31/07

Good to see a post from you again, Kacee, and congratulations! Hope you won’t be too busy being a grandma to pop in and favour us with a poem every now and again (muses permitting, of course...

...more sad than grisly, this “What she was matters not/ No one deserves to die that way” is the most important line. it reminds us that even without a name she wasn’t/isn’t just a story, but a real person, like us… thanks for the humanity of this of this.

the subject of your
poem is fascinatingly disturbing. it filled my mind with all sorts of gruesome images, and yet the same time, i was touched my your empathy. you write the most interesting things.
