Blood Ties chapters 8-9
I finished chapters 8-9 with about 1700 words. My current word count is 12,067. I took yesterday off and planned on making up for it today with a few extra words but I'll do that tomorrow. I'll probably nail down round 3000 words tomorrow. I need to do a little more plotting as the story has grown some what from the original idea. Just need to add some threads here and there.

Blood Ties Chapters 5-7
I finished chapters 5-7 tonight at just over 2000 words bringing my total to 10,272 words. I wanted to write 3000 words, but I'm reasonably happy with 2000. That's 400 words over the minimum to complete on time.

I'm not so worried about making the deadline anymore. My main concern ...read more

Blood Ties Chapters 2-4
I finished chapters 2-4 today. At first I didn't think I had it in me to write today. I was tempted to just bolt off to sleep, but I forced myself to sit down and I did it. This was the most I've written in one siting so far, 3226 words. I'm very proud of myself and this makes up for the slack day of 1200 words yesterady and the 0 word count for the day before. I'm back on tack and 24% complete with the 50,000 word goal, though I do believe this book will go beyond 50,000 words.

I'm happy with how it's progressing and I'm really starting to faith that I can do this. I'm psyched!

Blood Ties Chapter 1
I'm a little upset that last night I didn't get to write. It was a long day yesterday and I wasn't feeling well when I got home. I was so tired that I could barely see straight. I didn't get to make up for it tonight and I only wrote about 1200 words tonight bringing my word cound to just over 5000 (10% though!). I'm off tomorrow and I'm going to try to get in around 3000+ words tomorrow.

Blood Ties - Chapter 1 finished
I finsihed Chapter 1 of my book for NaNo with 1,935 words. I could have stretched it to 2000, but I felt it ended in a good spot and didn't want to push it.

With the prologue this brings "Blood Ties" to 3612 words. I feel pretty good about my progress. This time it only took me 1.5 hours. I might post my report card starting tomorrow. We'll see.

Blood Ties - Prologue Finished
I'm happy to say that my current word count is 1679. The working title for my book is "Blood Ties" and I finished a little shy of the 2000 words I wanted to write. I found that this is both easier and harder than I thought.

I got into it late today, and late in the process. Originally I wasn't going to be able to do this at all so I didn't have an outline, plot, characters or anything. So, Thursday night I came up with the basic concept and tweaked on the idea some Friday. Today I got the characters nailed down and the blot for the few few chapters, which buys me a little time to write a bit and work on the rest of the missing pieces.

I have to say, this is pretty damn fun!

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)
I posted this to my personal blog at Chrispian.com as well, but since this is my writing blog, I also wanted to share it here.

I've been flapping my lips about signing up for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) for over a year now. If ...read more

More about blogs
Blog's won't be showing up on the front page anytime soon. Look for them at their own page, [urlhttp://www.lit.org/blogs.php[/url]. I'll be adding new features, like customizing the look, xml feeds, pinging weblogs.com and comments on/off over the next few weeks or so. Send me any feature suggestions you might have.

Blogs are live!
I've been wanting to add blogs to lit.org for ages and I finally got around to doing it, along with tons of new features.

I'll be sending out a new issue of Majestic, either later tonight or tomorrow night with all the changes.

Blogs are a little different than standard submissions. To start adding your own, just add them to the blog category and they'll show up in your own blog page, which is http://www.lit.org/blog/username .. so mine would be http://www.lit.org/blog/crowe

Give them a try!
